Accessibility guide
At Richards Walking Tours in Victoria, British Columbia, we believe everyone should experience our city's rich history, colourful tales, and vibrant culture. Our 2.5-hour tours are thoughtfully designed to ensure a welcoming, barrier-free, and leisurely experience for guests of all mobility levels.

Barrier-free routes and comfortable pacing
Every tour is carefully routed along flat sidewalks, gentle paths, and standard wheelchair ramps. We intentionally avoid stairs and steep inclines to maintain an easy physical effort throughout the journey. Richard adapts the walking pace to the comfort of the group, ensuring that everyone can travel together without feeling rushed.

Mobility aids, seating, and facilities
Our route offers plenty of room for manual wheelchairs, walkers, and mobility scooters. Along the way, we make frequent stops near reliable public benches and resting areas, as well as accessible washrooms. For guests who require additional assistance, one electric mobility chair is available upon advance request.

Quiet stops and welcoming service animals
Certified service animals are warmly welcomed on every tour. To accommodate guests who are hard of hearing or sensitive to downtown street noise, Richard delivers historical presentations in quiet alleys, courtyards, and sheltered spaces away from traffic. Please let us know of any specific needs prior to arrival so we can ensure a relaxing visit.
